3 Nights Aria Amazon Cruise
Aqua Expedition’s 3 night Amazon River luxury cruise on the Aria Amazon begins in the remote colonial city of Iquitos (IQT), Peru and transports guests in exceptional comfort into the Amazon rainforest, along the Marañon River, the Amazon’s largest tributary, as well as other neighboring rivers (the Yarapa and Yanayacu-Pucate), each one rich in vibrant wildlife and thriving rainforests.
Go fishing for the many species of Amazon fish, explore the river on private speedboats in search of three-toed sloths, toucans, and macaws, then meet taricaya turtles in their natural habitat and spot endangered pink dolphins, unique to the Amazon, at play. As the Aria Amazon journeys towards the union of the Ucayali and the Marañon Rivers, considered the birthplace of the Amazon, learn from our experienced, expert naturalist guides about the diverse Amazon wildlife and birds of the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve.
Our high water season runs from November through May—summer and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. During the high water season, the average temperature is 86 degrees Fahrenheit, 12 degrees cooler than in the low water season. Rivers and streams are now about 23 feet higher, meaning that every river, creek and lake is navigable. You will get to explore more of the waterways of Amazonia and will have access to the plant life and wildlife area that you might miss during the low water season. This brings you much closer to the jungle canopy, allowing you to spot where our beautiful Amazon birds like to roost, witness monkeys at play and observe many other mammals in their natural habitats.
